Teaching idea

Children should predict which objects they think will be attracted to the magnet. They can test their predictions by using the direction arrows to control the movement of the magnet towards each object and then back to the bucket. Click in the centre of the direction arrows to change speed.

Learning outcome

Children will be able to sort objects into groups on the basis of the simple material properties of magnetic or non-magnetic.
