Number, money and measurement : Fractions

Children play "snap" with two sets of cards. One set shows the fraction while the other set shows a geometric representation of the fraction. For example, a square divided into 9 equal squares with three coloured squares represents the fraction 3/9. Does the other card match this?
This activity supports work on fractions. Children will find the initial stages difficult so should be encouraged to start in a slow and easy mode.
This activity would be an excellent support activity for work on fractions at a variety of levels and therefore is an excellent activity to support differentiation.
