Shape, position and Movement: Symmetry Level E

This activity supports the concept of reflective symmetry at a variety of levels. A shape appears below the mirror and three different shapes appear below the wizard. Which of these shapes is the mirror image of the one underneath the mirror? At the 'easy' level the focus is on regular polygons while at the 'expert' level some irregular shapes are included. There is good reinforcement of learning. If a child cannot initially recognise the mirror image of a particular shape the activity returns to the shape later so that the child has another opportunity.
